Research direction: climate change and vulnerable populations; urban environmental risk control and big data; built environment planning, design and intelligent control
WANG Junqi, Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, obtained his Ph.D. degree from City University of Hong Kong (during which he exchanged at Tsinghua University's Department of Automation). His research focuses on intelligent sensing & control of built environment, urban environmental big data & risk control, built environment planning & design. He has previously served as a Senior Research Associate in the Division of Building Science at City University of Hong Kong and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Southeast University. He is currently the Executive Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Province Engineering Research Center of Urban Heat and Pollution Control, Editor (Early Career) of the international journal Sustainable Cities and Society (JCR Q1 Top), Associated Editor of e-Prime, and Editorial Board Member of Frontiers in Sustainable Cities.
With funding from the national and provincial research projects, he has published over 50 SCI papers, 4 highly cited/hotspot papers in ESI, and has been granted 16 patents and software copyrights and contributed to the compilation of 1 standard. He has received honors such as the Best Paper Award in the JCR Q1 journal Energy and Buildings in the past 5 years and the Jiangsu Province Natural Science Top 100 Outstanding Academic Achievements. He has been nominated for the U35 Climbing-Peak Exploration Award in Jiangsu Province, awarded the Jiangsu Double Creation Doctorate (Outstanding Completion), and recognized as an Excellent Supervisor in the National University Green Building Design Competition.
He has led/participated in international cooperation projects between China and Europe, China and Finland, and established long-term scientific research cooperation with UCL, City University of Hong Kong, and University of Tampere, Finland. It has carried out technical cooperation with the Meteorological Observatory of Jiangsu Province and other departments to develop technical equipment and platforms for digital prevention and control of urban environmental risks, and has been applied in projects such as the Zero Carbon Park of the Eastern Innovation Port.
