Wang Xiaoqian, Winner of the “Le Corbusier Teaching Award in Architectural History” from Architectural Society of China, was one of the mostly welcomed postgraduate advisors in Southeast University. Since 1996, she has been teaching in School of Architecture of Southeast University, focusing on the architectural history and theory courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has also made post-doctoral research in Royal Institute of Technology(KTH),Sweden.
The main research fields include world architectural history, Chinese modern architecture, protection and renovation of architectural heritage and sustainable design of built environment. So far, she has published 15 monographs in Chinese and English such as Building in Nanjing: Professional Architects in the Republic China, The Art of Architectural Integration of Chinese and Western, The Influence of Western Architecture in China, A Brief History of Foreign Architectural History(textbook) etc.; published more than 50 academic papers; won more than 20 prizes in teaching and researching such as China National Book Award, Le Corbusier Award for History Teaching ect. In recent year she also has presided and completed nearly 30 scientific research programs on national, provincial and municipal levels as well as over 10 projects involving heritage protection and renovation of historical blocks or buildings. Some curation and academic works such as “The First Architects Graduated from University of Pennsylvania”, “Exhibition of 95 Anniversary for Architectural School of Southeast University” ,“T.P. Yang and His Century”etc. also can be seen during recent years.
